LED lighting is a subject where a lot of grading machine manufacturers asked for.

Because it is innovative and energy saving it suited Ellips, also since the prices of these components are dropping.

The LED flashing lights Ellips designed are based on the same idea why we used halogene lighting:

- Near Infra Red light for looking at contours of products and defects which are seen better with this type of light,
- and normal white lights, for color grading and defect detecting.

In detail they look like: left a nomal white LED, right an IR LED.
Different mixes of types of LED's can be made on 1 board.

The flashing circuit is triggered by the digital camera, which is equipped with a round Hirose connector.

The Hirose is the upper connector in this picture: 

Firmware version of the camera's is crucial for the triggering of the LED Light.

The LedFlasher board must be powered with 24 V DC power supply, and consumes 70 Watts.

The small formfactor of the LED's will help to construct better and more uniform lighting, giving a better grading result.

Ellips also supplies different lenses to mount on the board for precision lighting. 

Latest development is a smaller printed circuit board, in this board the lenses can not be used.
This board can be used in smaller housings or even 2 in 1 housing to have more intense light.
